What we believe about the Bible.

"These are the Old and the New Testaments:  They were written by holy men, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and are God's revealed word to man.  They are sufficient and infallible rule and guide to salvation and all Christian worship and service.
Since the Bible is the Word of God, it is without error in all matters upon which it speaks, whether history, geography, matters relating to science or any other subject."
1

          II Peter 1:18-21;  II Timothy 3:16,17; Ex. 4:15; Psa. 32:8;  Heb. 1:1, 2.

We believe that the King James Version of the Bible is the most accurate translation available to the English speaking people of the world today. Other versions, such as the NASV, may be adequate for reading and understanding, but the King James Version is more closely associated with the original manuscripts.

We believe that the Human writers of the scriptures were chosen by God and filled with the Holy Spirit enabling them to write the Very Words that God Himself wanted written. Every word in the Bible is exactly what God wanted written. That's why it's called "God's Word".

What we believe about God.

"The Scriptures teach that there is only one true and living God, who is Spirit, self-existent, eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, independent, good, wise, holy, just, and merciful, the ...Creator, Preserver, and Governor of the Universe; the Redeemer, Savior, Sanctifier, and Judge of men; and the only proper object of worship.
The mode of His existence, however, is a subject far above the understanding of man - finite beings cannot comprehend Him.  There is nothing in the universe that can justly represent Him, for there is none like Him.  He is the fountain of all perfection and happiness.  He is glorified by the whole creation, and worthy to be loved and served by all intelligence."1

What we believe about Divine Government & Providence.

"God exercises a providential care and superintendence over all His creatures, and governs the world in wisdom and mercy, according to the testimony of His Word."1

"God has endowed man with power of free choice, and governs him by moral laws and motives; and this power of free choice is the exact measure of man's responsibility."1

"All events are present with God from everlasting to everlasting; but His knowledge of them does not in any sense cause them, nor does He decree all events which He knows will occur."1

Acts 17:28; Matt 10:30; Psa 104:13,14; Job 14:5; Eph 1:11; Psa 22:28; Psa 97:2; Isa 33:32; Ex 34:6; Job 36:5; Deut 30:19; Isa 1:18-20; John 5:40; Rom 2:14,15; Prov 1:24-28; Ezek 33:11; Acts 15:18; I Sam 2:30; Ezel 18:20-25,31: Jer 44:4.

The 21stcenturywitness.org follows the doctrines of the Free Will Baptist

The 21stcenturywitness.org staff are associated in practice with the National Association of Free Will Baptist (FWB) and in most cases to the Original FWB of North Carolina and are committed to the proclamation of the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How do we know what is truth? If the Bible says it, it is truth!

Free Will Baptist believe in the Free Will of the Believer to accept God's gracious gift of salvation through faith in his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

This gift of Salvation is not based on any works, before salvation, nor after salvation. It is based on God's free gift to all mankind, if they would only believe Jesus is who He said He is.

The simple ABC's Of Salvation

A

Accept that you are a sinner. "For All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"    Romans 3:26

B

Believe that because of that sin, we must die. "For the wages of sin, is Death, .."    Romans 6:23a

Believe that Jesus, who never sinned, paid for our sins. "...But the gift of God is eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord."     Romans 6:23b

Believe that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life"     John 3:16.

C

Confess Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. "That if thou shalt confess with thy the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."     Romans 10:9,10

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Why not ask Him today, right now. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all come to salvation.

Pray a prayer like this:

"Lord, I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive me! I believe that you are the son of God and that you died on the cross for my sins. I believe that you rose from the dead on the third day and is living right now. Come into my heart and save me right now! For I believe and trust in You! Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me now! In Jesus Name, Amen!

If you prayed that prayer and meant business with God, I am proud to call you a fellow Christian. Please Email me at drbarbour@nc.rr.com and let me know so I can pray for you and with you!
